NZ Herald reported a few days ago on an East Coast man who collected the dole for 25 years from aged 37 to 62. He is the longest unemployment beneficiary in New Zealand and lived off $260,000 taxpayers’ support.
Others on a list of the top 10 have all been receiving the payments for more than 15 years, according to information released to the Herald from Work and Income New Zealand.
“Winz”? He may have but we certainly didn’t.
I’ve just had a friend in his forties return from Australia to Christchurch. He’s been back a week, into the Winz office, and already he’s out on a wage clearing sites in the Red Zone. Legend. So, where ae all these 15 year beneficiaries? At home watching Oprah stories on victimhood? Give me a break.
